Leadership Team

David Tao

David Tao

CEO

The Founder and CEO of Chaping X.PIN, known online by the handle "Chaping Jun." After graduating from the University of Sydney, he joined *Kaishi Crowdfunding* as its 12th employee. In July 2015, writing under the pseudonym "Chaping Jun," he began publishing articles on public accounts that garnered widespread acclaim. That same year, he independently founded Chaping and established Hangzhou Muggle Network Technology Co., Ltd. Leveraging a content style characterized by sharp wit, humor, and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts, he transformed Chaping from a one-man independent media project into a leading technology content group boasting a fan base of 20 million. In 2018, he was named to the *Forbes Asia 30 Under 30* list. His core philosophy is "translating the language of technology into plain English," and his slogan is "Debug The World."

Lan Huiqin

Lan Huiqin

Head of HR

Born in the late 1980s, she carries the quiet resilience unique to her generation deep in her bones. As a co-founder of Muggle Network, she has witnessed the company grow from nothing — a true veteran with roots that run deep. She sees the growth of others as her own mission — not a slogan, but a way of life she has chosen. Overseeing all human resources and administrative work, she leads team building and drives management training, because in her eyes, every person's growth is a cause worth taking seriously. Outside of work, she studies classical Chinese culture, seeking wisdom from the ancients; she loves rowing, feeling speed and power on the water. In short: this is someone who helps others not out of obligation, but instinct.

Dawn

Dawn

Content Director

Dawn was born in Harbin — a city forged by extreme cold. The resilience shaped by ice and snow, combined with the subtle influence of his surgeon father, gave him a naturally rigorous analytical mind and formidable logical judgment. This "rational core" would later become his most powerful weapon in the world of content creation. At just 20 years old, he joined an editorial team and quickly distinguished himself with creative talent far beyond his peers, earning recognition as one of the most capable creators on the team. Over the years that followed, his written work has reached tens of millions of readers, and his video content has reached even further. His work doesn't just spread — it genuinely changes the way people see the world. He is also the co-founder of Zhī Wēi, a financial media outlet. In an era where everyone is generating noise, Zhī Wēi chooses to create content that truly matters — and for this, Dawn has earned deep respect across the industry. Outside of work, he is passionate about food and a skilled cook, a devoted family man who cherishes his wife. This perhaps says it all: people with real judgment also know what truly matters in life.

 Mo Runhuo

Mo Runhuo

Head of Monetization

Mo is academically accomplished, always striving upward, and perpetually full of drive — not buzzwords on a résumé, but genuine assessments from everyone who has worked alongside him. The monetization team he leads has earned a playful nickname within the company: the Money Machine. It sounds rough around the edges, but it is the most direct acknowledgment of the team's fighting spirit. Under his leadership, the team can be described in two words: fierce and relentless. Business instinct, execution power, and an intense hunger for results — these qualities are highly concentrated in him, and they're contagious. He is also the co-founder of Muggle Alliance — the MCN organization under Muggle — and the initiator of the MUST Conference. From content ecosystems to industry platforms, he is constantly expanding the boundaries of Muggle's commercial territory. Yet beneath all of this, he retains a rare touch of childlike wonder. He is a die-hard Pokémon fan — the franchise has shaped his entire life, and his profile picture is almost certainly Pikachu. Someone who loves competition so fiercely still has a trainer who never grew up living deep in his heart. That is probably the secret behind his endless drive.

Chen Zhe

Chen Zhe

Head of Content

From Tianjin — we all call her "Jiejie," which is both the universal title for Tianjin women and the position she has unquestionably earned within the team. Meeting Chen Zhe for the first time, you might be fooled by her innocent, disarming appearance. Don't be. Behind that smile runs a set of finely tuned machinery. She studied science and engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology — that legendary, almost mythical institution — and after graduating, joined Huawei, that equally legendary Chinese company. These two experiences feel tailor-made for her: training grounds that embedded an engineer's way of thinking deep into how she approaches everything. When she joined the editorial team, she brought that mindset into the world of content. Under her hand, the content department is no longer a loose gathering of creators — it is a precisely meshed, smoothly running machine, where every gear has its place and every step has its logic. Outside of work, she loves life and the outdoors. Her greatest ambition is to travel the world, and diving is another way she explores it — from the surface to the deep, her curiosity about this world knows no bounds. Currently based in Shenzhen, still running with perfect precision.

Xu Xinhai

Xu Xinhai

Director of Content Operations

A Computer Science graduate from the University of Pittsburgh, he is one of the most beloved executives within the team. Colleagues call him "xxh," or sometimes "xxx" — the latter sounds like "Little Star" in Chinese, which is, admittedly, quite adorable. The affection people have for him can be split precisely in two. Half comes from his gentle management style. He always takes care of how everyone feels, and working under him, you rarely feel pressured — a rare quality among technical managers. The other half comes from his appearance. When he first joined Muggle, he was slim — a dead ringer for Jacky Cheung. Now, his weight has reached unknowable depths. Seen from a distance, he resembles a small rolling hill — and perched atop that hill is his smiling face. Yes, sometimes he walks through the office alone, and he is still smiling. No one knows what he is smiling about, but the smile is so genuine that it is impossible to doubt. There is no "however" here. Behind that smile lives a soul as good as gold — at least, we sincerely hope so. Outside of work, he is a devoted believer in gaming, and considers himself to have deep insight and mastery of the ninth art. On this point, we offer no comment.

Shoushou

Shoushou

Head of Short Video

Legends sometimes look remarkably ordinary. Shoushou is Muggle's fifth employee — a number that is a piece of history in itself. But honestly, for the first five years at Muggle, he was largely on the margins of the team, without any standout achievements — this is no secret, and he himself would probably not deny it. Then the short video era arrived. The new wave, led by TikTok, swept everything in its path. While most people were still trying to figure out which direction to face, Shoushou had already figured it out. He truly understood the language and logic of short video, truly knew what users on the other side of the screen needed, and truly could read operational truths from data that others simply could not see. The era gave him a stage, and he caught it. He is remarkably selfless, constantly teaching and sharing his knowledge with others — this is the most consistent thing colleagues say about him. If you just joined the company, you would never be able to pick him out of a crowd. He looks entirely ordinary, dresses casually, and goes home for lunch and dinner every single day without fail. His hobby is Auto Chess — he often arrives at the office early in the morning to play a few rounds before work officially begins, and after hours, he uses his "overtime" to keep studying the game. On weekends, he likes to go digging for bamboo shoots. A man who has seen through the very essence of short video spends most of his leisure time on Auto Chess and bamboo shoots. That is very Shoushou.
